IGT and MGM Springfield have introduced wide-area progressive jackpot slot machines to Massachusetts for the first time, marking a significant expansion of gaming options in the state. The two companies announced the rollout of 20 Wheel of Fortune-branded slot games at MGM Springfield, the western Massachusetts casino that serves as the exclusive launch venue for the new product category.

Wide-area progressive, or WAP, systems link machines across a property or network so that a portion of each wager contributes to a shared jackpot pool, allowing prize totals to grow rapidly and reach sums far beyond what a standalone machine could offer. At MGM Springfield, the Wheel of Fortune jackpots are configured to reset at levels as high as $1.125 million after a winning hit, giving players an immediate substantial prize to chase from the moment a jackpot is claimed.
